Xeroderma pigmentosum, or XP, is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder affecting DNA repair in wherein the ability to repair damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) light is deficient. Beating a DUI

Is drinking and driving fun? Exciting? Thrilling?
The people who think so face the possibility of getting a DUI: driving under the influence. When police pull a person over, it is not a pleasant experience and there are a couple of things a person can try to lessen the pain.
If the police pull someone over, the person should not do or say anything incriminating. The driver should remain calm and cooperative, but do not answer any questions about drinking. While the officer will do everything he or she can to implicate driving while intoxicated, do not provide details.

Say no to Field Sobriety Tests

Do not submit to any field sobriety tests. The officer may ask the driver of a vehicle to perform verbal tests like counting or reciting the alphabet. The cop may want the suspect to do physical tests like following the trace of a pen, walk a straight line or stand on one foot. Respectfully decline these offers. All field sobriety tests are voluntary. It is not required that the driver help the officer in compiling evidence or giving probable cause.
If arrested, a person must hear the Miranda rights. Suspects in custody have the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney. If an arresting officer does not supply the suspect with Miranda rights, a judge may deem anything the suspect said or did inadmissible in court.

Get Lawyer Specializing in DUI

Obtain a lawyer that specializes in DUI or make sure a public defender understands DUI cases and knows how to beat them.
After the police arrest a person for DUI, the person will have a choice between a urine test and a breath test. Choose the breath test because the results may be challengeable. Lawyers can argue blood alcohol test due to preexisting medical conditions, improperly working Breathalyzer machines and misinterpretations of test samples.
Consider the condition of the weather. Glaring or blinding sun, rain, snow, fog or heavy wind can cause erratic driving or weaving. Consider fatigue, psychological duress or physical impairment as an explanation for erratic driving.

Show Respect

Lastly, treat the court and judge respectively. Showing remorse for the seriousness of your situation indicates redemption. Dress appropriately when going to court. You may even want to pick up a pair of eyeglasses to wear to court. Recent studies indicate that people who wear eyeglasses fare better in court.
